Soft tissue injuries & back problems are often the result of
underlying symptoms which have been ignored. Factors such as
stress, poor diet, repetitive strain, bad posture & injuries
all contribute to muscle tension.
In order to function as nature intended muscles should be
elastic & spongy but toned. Tight muscles can be weak &
inefficient. They recover slowly from exercise, becoming
painful & sore. This puts stress on joints tendons &
ligaments, causing pain, discomfort & increasing the risk of
injury.
There are 24 bones (vertebrae) that protect the spinal cord.
These vertebral bones form semi-movable joints which allow
us movement. If these bones lose their natural position &
range of motion, the muscles that support them adapt. They
become used to supporting the spine incorrectly. If
something happens that exceeds the body’s ability to adapt
further, this can lead to tearing of the muscle tissue,
and/or nerve irritation, resulting in pain & loss of
movement.
Prevent is better than a cure. Regular maintenance of
muscles & spinal alignment can avoid bone & soft tissue
degeneration and also improve digestion & metabolism.
